Family and Concerned Persons
Chemical dependency is a family disease. Therefore, it i
s essential that family members and concerned persons understand the nature of the disease and how family interaction affects the recovery process. Family members and/or significant others are encouraged to attend the Concerned Persons meeting on Monday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Topics for group discussion include co-dependency, enabling behaviors, family systems, and how family interaction impacts the disease process. Through open and honest communication, family members and friends learn how to be supportive of their loved one without engaging in counter-productive enabling behaviors.
